         President's Note
The second half of the year is already upon us…can you believe it? While we’ve introduced several new trust solutions just since January—including a turnkey collaboration and enhanced preneed management software—we continue to keep a forward-thinking approach on how we can continue to better serve those who have entrusted us with their business’ financial success.

Part of that approach includes minimizing any learning curve that comes with new solutions and products. To help you fully understand the benefits of those offerings, our enhanced PRISM software, we created a comprehensive document that outlines how the platform can save you time and money, and also offer all-inclusive access to your trust accounts around-the-clock. We understand that the world is full of change and new technologies, so we will remain on the forefront of discoveries and innovations to better serve you…while never losing the personal touch we consider so valuable.

Now that we’ve reached “halftime” of 2017, this is a great time to huddle up and re-visit the goals you set for your business in January and assess if you’re on track to accomplish them. Even if you have ground to make up, it’s never too late in the game to get started or even establish new goals. Of course, we are invested in your success and are here to help you accomplish your objectives, so always remember we are just a phone call away if you need any guidance or assistance.

The remainder of 2017 is sure to be an exhilarating ride, and as always, we wish you and your business the best of luck for a productive and prosperous future. We look forward to speaking with you very soon!

Sincerely,

Bill Williams

ICYMI: FSI Releases Video on the Role of a Death Care
Trust Administrator

A properly managed trust is critical and necessary for all funeral homes and cemeteries. Simply put, your short- and long-term sustainability depends on it.

Every successful trust has a diligent and well-informed trust administrator. Without one, you’ll be left worrying about the possibility of a future regulatory audit, the accuracy of your records or the cash flowing out and, most importantly, into your trust fund.

But what exactly is a trust administrator? Find out by viewing Funeral Services, Inc.’s new animation video by clicking on the image below.

Paul White featured in the May/June issue of
Funeral Business Advisor

Over the last several years, technology has shaped how we communicate, do business and live every aspect of our daily lives. The “clipboard and paper” approach still exists, but so many businesspeople have turned to the digital world to save time and money, and offer clients stronger efficiencies.

But how much should technology impact the death care profession? See what FSI’s Vice President of Marketing and Client Development Paul White thinks in the latest issue of Funeral Business Advisor.

Employee Spotlight:
Wendy Bruner
FSI is made up of a dedicated team of experienced professionals who work each day to provide you with excellent service. Each individual brings an important skillset that assists us in powering your trust. To help you get to know the FSI team better, we shine a spotlight on one employee each quarter.

Meet Wendy Bruner,
FSI’s Assistant Vice President of Client Services

Wendy celebrated an important milestone this year: in March, she reached her 20-year anniversary at FSI. As an important member of FSI’s Preneed Services team, she has helped ensure that FSI clients always have a pleasant and successful experience.  While Wendy has seen FSI grow and change over the years, she says that some things stay the same – FSI is still constantly striving to  provide clients  and  staff   with  the  most  current
resources, whether it is offering training classes, having the most up-to-date equipment, hiring in-house programmers and CPAs, or handling a specific request from a client. Wendy says that FSI has always gone the extra mile for its clients – and of course, she’s a big part of that.

In all her time with the company, the most significant milestone she has seen FSI accomplish is the recent conversion from the AS/400 system to the PRISM system – a huge undertaking, she says, but quite successful. Wendy recognizes that PRISM is in its infancy, but applauds the FSI in-house programmers who are striving to make the system everything FSI wants it to be to best serve clients.

While she truly enjoys working with clients, Wendy’s commitment to FSI over the past two decades has been rooted in her love for her FSI team. The family atmosphere at FSI has been deeply rewarding for Wendy, who appreciates knowing that the company really cares for her well-being. It means the world to her that her FSI team members support each other in everything, and she knows that she always has someone to talk to no matter what work or personal situation she is facing.

Wendy has three children, 23, 19 and 18, so between choir, volleyball, soccer, flag football, baseball, and 4H Livestock events, she doesn’t have much time for herself – but of course, her children are her heart, and she wouldn’t trade a minute of it.  Now that her youngest has graduated from high school, though, she’s looking forward to seeing what “free time” is all about.
